- Complete an Incident Report
- Contact your doctor
Animal Bite from Farm animal:
- If the bite broke skin, apply first aid and instruct the person bitten to seek medical attention to determine whether antibiotics or tetanus are needed
- Complete an Incident Report in Apricot
- If possible (and safe), trap the animal
- Immediately wash the wound with soap and water
- Call the Washtenaw County Public Health Department (734-544-6700) for further instructions. The Health Department may suggest that the person bit contact their primary health care physician to determine whether or not a rabies vaccination is necessary
- Complete an Incident Report in Apricot
Follow-up - what loose ends do I need to wrap up?
Project Manager will notify Facilities Coordinator if an incident report for an animal bite is submitted.
