CONTRIBUTION TO MISSION & CONTINUUM OF CARE
The goal of Dawn Farm is to remove the barriers that people with addictions face to entering into recovery. Working directly with the President and Communications Director, the Development Director coordinates fundraising and volunteer initiatives in support of this mission. Funds raised by the Development Director contribute to scholarships for indigent clients, operations at Spera, housing scholarships, supplies for all of our programs, and other important initiatives as needed. The Development Director also manages volunteerism at our sites which not only provides necessary services to our programs but contributes to a culture of service in recovery.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Donor solicitation, appreciation, and management, under the advisement of the President and Communications Director
Manages donor database, Little Green Light
Works with Communications Director to create annual strategic fundraising plan
Prepares grant applications and reports
Attends meetings/giving informational presentations to local partners
Plans multiple annual fundraising events, including sponsorship solicitation, event coordination, volunteer recruitment, invitations, reporting, etc.
Coordinates in-kind donations for transitional houses and programs
Engages the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees in fundraising
Conducts individual follow ups with new donors, monthly donors, and lapsed donors
Manages memorial gifts and notifying families of memorial donations
Prepares and complete mailing of multiple annual fundraising appeal mailings
Oversees volunteer management, including recruitment and volunteer newsletters
Prepares volunteer and Board appreciation initiatives
Completes other job duties as requested by the President or Communications Director
Participates in all required trainings, staff inservices, and special events

ALL DAWN FARM EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES
Integrates Dawn Farm mission and core values into daily functions
Familiar with recovery principles and the philosophy and practice of 12-step recovery
Pursues continuing education to improve job knowledge and maintain licensing/certification, as applicable
Able to interact with a wide variety of people in a cordial, professional manner, both independently and as part of a team
Able to interact with clients and family members in an empathetic manner while maintaining professional boundaries
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May supervise interns and temporary help as needed
Volunteer management
CREDENTIALS
1-3 years minimum experience in non-profit/office environment
Experience with event management, database management, development, or related field strongly preferred
RECOVERY CREDENTIALS
At least eighteen months of continuous sobriety, if in recovery from addiction.
If ever a client in any Dawn Farm program, at least one year since the date of last service.
