CONTRIBUTION TO MISSION & CONTINUUM OF CARE
The goal of Dawn Farm is to remove the barriers that people with addictions face to entering into recovery. Resident Aides at Dawn Farm further this mission by supporting the treatment team in providing general supervision and attending to the practical needs of clients outside of regular business hours.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Transports clients in Dawn Farm vehicles to 12-step meetings, appointments, and other facilities
Provides general client supervision including enforcing program rules, directing clients in structured activities, and attending to emergencies
Supports the clinical team by documenting and communicating all relevant client information to clinical staff
Performs various clerical tasks, including answering phones, making copies, etc.
Monitors client medication and documents any medication taken
Completes and documents emergency drills and site inspections
Runs errands for clients and other staff, as needed
Manages the Resident Aide schedules
Assists with hiring new Resident Aides by conducting interviews and completing reference checks
Assists program coordinators with annual evaluations
Helps develop Resident Aide training materials
Addresses staff concerns with the program coordinators; helps resolve any issues or conflicts that arise
Assigns responsibilities to Resident Aides
Makes self available for consultation outside of normal work schedule
Takes the lead on training new Resident Aide staff
Facilitates Resident Aide staff meetings
Provides coaching and guidance for Resident Aide staff
Completes other duties, as requested by program coordinator
Participates in all required trainings, staff inservices, and special events
Completes and documents emergency drills and site inspections
Assists with training of new staff
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

Familiar with recovery principles and the philosophy and practice of 12-step recovery
Pursues continuing education to improve job knowledge and maintain licensing/certification, as applicable
Able to interact with a wide variety of people in a cordial, professional manner, both independently and as part of a team
Able to interact with clients and family members in an empathetic manner while maintaining professional boundaries
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Takes the lead on training new Resident Aides
Facilitates Resident Aide staff meeting
Provides coaching and guidance for Resident Aides
Provides leadership and supervision for the Resident Aide team.
CREDENTIALS
Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field preferred.
Valid driver’s license and ability to by covered by Dawn Farm auto insurance
CPR certification
RECOVERY
At least eighteen months of continuous sobriety, if in recovery from addiction.
If ever a client in any Dawn Farm program, at least one year since the date of last service.
