Admissions Information - Screening and Access to Services

Dawn Farm provides residential treatment, residential detox, outpatient treatment and transitional housing.

Dawn Farm strives to have clear guidelines for admissions to each of its programs. Each program will have admission procedures that include the following:

• How admissions are prioritized

• Who makes admission decisions

• Screening procedures and tools

• Eligibility criteria

• Exclusionary criteria and process

• Waiting list procedures

Residential Treatment -

We treat people age 17 and up who have a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency. Treatment is 3 to 6 months, depending on the needs of the individual and their preferences. Transitional housing is offered following treatment. We do not refuse admission based on ability to pay. Outpatient Treatment -

The intensity and duration of treatment depends on the individual’s needs and preference. Cost varies by service provided. Persons interested in outpatient services should contact the Intake Team (734.669.8265 or direct transfer to 300 or 309) between 9AM and 9PM Monday through Friday.

• Outpatient Admission Procedures

Youth and Family Services –

This program is no longer limited to referrals from the Washtenaw County Family Court. Persons interested in adolescent services should contact Intake Team (734.669.8265 or direct transfer to 300 or 309) between 9AM and 9PM Monday through Friday.

• Youth and Family Admission Procedures

Detox -

Detox services range from 3 to 5 days and focus on introducing the client to the recovering community and facilitating a referral to the “next step” that the person identifies with detox counselors. Persons interested in detox services should contact the Intake Team (734.669.8265 or direct transfer to 300 or 309) between 9AM and 9PM Monday through Friday. Admission is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• Spera Admission Procedures

Transitional Housing (The Chapin Street Project) –

We have several transitional housing sites in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. Participants in this program must be motivated to recover from their addiction or alcoholism. They are asked for a 6 month commitment and can stay in the program for up to 2 years. Participants are expected to attend daily 12 step meetings, get a job on day shift or be involved in meaningful activity during the day, abide a curfew, attend weekly house meetings and remain abstinent from drugs and alcohol. The cost is $475-$540 per month for rent and utilities; food is not included, but care packages may be provided.
