Unplug the power to the phone, (Some phones have a power cord. Others get power through the internet cable.) Then, plug it back in. See if the phone works once it's powered up. If it doesn't, proceed to 2.
Borrow a curly cord from another phone and see if it works. If this takes care of it, have your supervisor or IT Specialist order a new cord. If not, proceed to 3.
Borrow the handset from another phone and see if it works. If this takes care of it, let IT Specialist know, so they can notify our phone vendor. If not, proceed to 4.
Swap your phone with another phone and see if it works. If this takes care of it, borrow an internet cable and reconnect your phone. If this works, ask your supervisor for a new internet cable. If not, report to your coordinator or IT Specialist, so we can notify our phone vendor.
If the vendor can't replace your phone quickly, we can insist that they move a non-critical phone to your desk and reprogram it.
