An Emergency Eye Wash Station

• The Farm=Outside the laundry room
• DFD=At the top of the basement stairs
• Outpatient= In the restroom
• Spera= Hallway outside the laundry room & men’s dorm

A computer to fill out an Incident Report (if unable to see, colleague can fill out)

Timeframe - about how long will this take?-

5-10 minutes

Contacts - who do I need to let know?

Your Supervisor, Facilities Coordinator (Ted), & Project Manager (Roxie)

Steps - what do I do?

1. Remove tamper-evident seal and remove top.

2. Pour contents of bottle onto eye or skin.

3. Hold eye(s) open and rotate eyeball back and forth while pouring.

4. Repeat flushing as needed.

5. Obtain medical attention immediately.

6. Complete an Incident Report and contact appropriate staff. If unable to,

ask a colleague to do this.

Loose-ends?

Once contacted, the Facilities Coordinator or Project Manager will replace the eye cleansing solution.

Again, please follow up with your Primary Care Physician.
