CONTRIBUTION TO MISSION & CONTINUUM OF CARE
The goal of Dawn Farm is to remove the barriers that people with addictions face to entering into recovery. The Accountant at Dawn Farm furthers this mission by ensuring that financial responsibilities are completed accurately and timely.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Becomes familiar with relevant procedures and policies of the department and Agency
Responsible for entire Accounts Payable process, including annual 1099’s, 1096’s, and escheat reporting
Issues timely payment of leases; tracks lease expiration dates, and makes sure lease contracts are signed; sets up utilities at newly acquired properties; request exempt status from property taxes
Issues refunds via A/P check or credit card, as needed
Prepares State of Michigan sales tax report and payment
Manages Paypal credit card processing and reconciliation
Prepares bank deposits
Prepares deposit journal entries and cash receipts entries
Records and tracks daily cash transactions in Current Balance spreadsheet
Assists in the preparation of documents required for billing and general ledger entries for revenue recognition and collection efforts
Prepares CMHPSM billing and enters information into CRCT software
Records and tracks CMHPSM transitional housing scholarships and prepares month-end invoice
Prepares Private Pay invoices, and issues refunds as necessary
Assists in compiling information and preparing schedules for annual audit
Acts as backup for Payroll and Human Resources
Completes other duties, as requested by Finance Director or President
Participates in all required trainings, staff inservices, and special events
Assists with training of new staff

Familiar with recovery principles and the philosophy and practice of 12-step recovery
Pursues continuing education to improve job knowledge and maintain licensing/certification, as applicable
Able to interact with a wide variety of people in a cordial, professional manner, both independently and as part of a team
Able to interact with clients and family members in an empathetic manner while maintaining professional boundaries
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
CREDENTIALS
Degree or successful completion of college coursework in Accounting or Business, or equivalent experience in accounting
CPR certification
Experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
RECOVERY
At least eighteen months of continuous sobriety, if in recovery from addiction.
If ever a client in any Dawn Farm program, at least one year since the date of last service.
