Dawn Farm's Recovery Support Program exists to assist those who struggle with addiction to achieve and maintain recovery. This is done through engaging clients in treatment, offering community resources, and helping them stay connected to the recovery community. The RSS serves as a community based barrier remover.
We believe that addiction is a treatable disease, one symptom of which is drug and alcohol use. All addictions, whether to drugs or alcohol, are treated with a consistent therapeutic approach. This approach includes offering support and accountability, a strong emphasis getting involved with the recovery community, the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous, and aiding the client in sustaining recovery. We believe in the value and dignity of each client and in their capacity to develop a lifestyle of honesty and recovery.
Dawn Farm prides itself in treating traditionally under served populations, including IV drug users, low socio-economic status, women and minorities.
Dawn Farm’s Recovery Support Program program serves individuals with mild, moderate and severe substance use disorders.
We admit people without regard to their drug of choice and in no way limit admission based on nationality, race, religion, marital status, sexual preference or political belief.
Schedules vary based on the schedules of the Recovery Support Specialists.
Please see the Program Evaluation system for a complete description of measurable goals, objectives and outcomes. These measures are consistent with our philosophy as stated above.
Case Management: The RSS will help to locate indigenous community resources that support recovery and link clients with them. They are involved in helping the client to remove barriers for individual recovery. They will help clients advocate appropriately for themselves in the community to assure that barriers to recovery are addressed. They help clients find extracurricular activities to get involved in and/or local places to build healthy sober hobbies.
AA/NA: Assist clients in becoming connected to 12 step groups and fostering support in the recovery community.
Individual Support: The RSS will provide hope, emotional support, and motivational support to help clients sustain recovery. They are available to maintain contact with clients at vulnerable times (including holidays and weekends) to provide support and accountability for following through with recovery plans. They provide crisis management as needed and connect clients with other services as appropriate.
The team approach is integral to treatment at Dawn Farm. The team includes the entire clinical staff, the clinical supervisors, and, when appropriate, AA sponsors, family members, probation officers, outside medical personnel, etc. The Recovery Support Specialist consults with all appropriate members of the team on an as needed basis and with supervision on a weekly basis. Most clinical decisions are made in this context and during supervision. All decisions (unless the situation is an emergency) are made after consulting with at least one other staff member.
